Following a statement from 3SC pointing to a sharing deal among the four clubs that competed in the event, the IMC Head of Operations, Davidson Owumi, clarified.

“Whatever MoU the teams engaged into remains their agreement as the Sponsors, Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation, was quite clear that the 100m was for the winner and had gone ahead to announce a further 30m for the runner-up, Enyimba International,” the IMC official noted.

He said it is the discretion of the clubs to make any arrangements they may desire to enter into, “but the reality remains that the Sponsors will be paying the ₦100m to Shooting Stars as was formally announced”.

This clarification follows a statement attributed to Shooting Stars management professing to “clear the air on the prize money of the recently ended NPFL-Dozy Mmobuosi Super Cup Football Tournament.”

According to the statement, “contrary to popular assumption, 3SC received the entire 100,000,000 naira as the winner of the four-team tournament, we wish to declare that the club received only 50,000,000 naira as the victors.”

“After being thrilled by the magnificent and closely contested finals, the chairman of Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation made an additional promise of 30 million to the runners-up, Enyimba International,” the IMC added.
